Tying Your Shoe Laces

Friday, May 02, 2008

For runners (and even non-runners) several techniques will prevent your shoes from moving independent of your feet. (I've used both of these techniques in marathon and beyond and they work wonders!)

1. Take the laces out of the top eye and run each side out the second eye and into the first (top eye) on that side. Then cross the laces and bring the ends underneath the loop formed by the lace on each side. Then proceed to tie em up.

2. To keep your shoes from coming untied: After making your first bend (when you normally go around once and put the other turn through) instead make 2 turns and then pull the knot tight. the double turn will very rarely (if ever) come out.

Congratulate yourself on your Rad-ness and bust out a great run or other adventure!
